If you qualify, scholarships, discounts, and grants can help ease the cost of your Tiffin University education. Scholarships, discounts, and grants are available in many areas, from many providers. Listed below are just a few of your grant and scholarship options. For more information on whether you’re eligible for these real resources, please contact us in The Financial Aid Office. What are Scholarships, Discounts and/or Grants?

A scholarship, discount, or grant is a sum of money or other aid granted to a student because of merit, need, or other reasons to pursue his or her studies. Unlike loans, this type of aid does not have to be repaid.

Federal and State Financial Aid

  • Available exclusively to undergraduate students
  • Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA
  • Depends on your status as a full-time or part-time student
  • Must have Financial Need base from the FAFSA
  • Based on your cost of attendance and if you plan to attend the full year or less

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant – SEOG GRANT

  • Available exclusively to undergraduate students
  • Requires exceptional Financial Need base on the FAFSA
  • Priority given to Federal Pell Grant recipients
  • Funds depend on availability

Ohio College Opportunity Grant – OCOG Grant

  • Ohio Resident
  • Financial need
  • Undergraduate Student Only

Tiffin University Aid

Policy: “All eligible undergraduate students are required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive any Tiffin University Aid. This includes but not limited to Academic Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Dragon Assistant Grant, Arts Scholarships, and Leadership Scholarships.”

Students are only eligible to receive ONE institutional scholarship/discount. All financial aid documents required for financial aid and all admissions documents required for admissions is required. Financial Aid will NOT disburse onto accounts until all final official documents are received.

Academic scholarships are awarded to full-time on-campus students during their first year or to transfer students.  The merit scholarship awarded is based on the Cumulative GPA. The amount awarded to a first year or transfer student is the amount they can continue to receive during their enrollment on-campus at Tiffin University. We do not move scholarship amounts up after the first year. This scholarship is applied to tuition.

The FAFSA grant is a grant for the 25-26 academic year of $1000 for any new first-year or transfer on campus student for Fall 2025 who has filed a 2025-2026 FAFSA by March 1, 2025. This grant is renewable for incoming Fall 2025 students annually as long as they continue to file their FAFSA by June 1st.

Any new first-year or transfer student for Fall 2025 who has filed a 2025-2026 FAFSA and has visited campus in-person prior to March 1, 2025. This grant is not renewable.

If you are currently active duty military, you are eligible for a reduced rate of tuition at Tiffin University. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University’s scholarships, grants, or discounts. Proof required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the tuition rate.

Tuition Costs:

  • $250 per credit hour for Undergraduate Bachelor Degree Students
  • $325 per credit hour for Master Degree Students
  • $450 per credit hour for Doctorate Degree Students

  • Copy of your most recent active enlistment contract
  • Letter from an Education Officer
  • Copy of active military ID
  • Tuition Assistance (TA) Authorization Letter

Tiffin University offers generous scholarships for participating in extracurricular Arts activities including music, theatre, dance, studio production, multimedia production, videography & photography, journalism, art & design, and sports media. For info please visit TiffinArts.

 

Tiffin University offers athletic scholarships for intercollegiate sports. For more information visit GoTiffinDragons.

Individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree will receive a fifty percent discount of the tuition rate for on-campus undergraduate courses. Confirmation of the degree, in the form of an official transcript must be presented to the Office of Registration and Records before enrollment. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University’s scholarships, grants, or discounts.

The Chamber & Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership member companies who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.

  • Master Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
  • Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
  • On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount

Eissmann Automotive Group employees who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment is required for proof annually.

  • Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
  • Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
  • On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount

Tiffin University is proud to award the Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship symbolizes the University’s commitment to community and student support and recognizes the importance of family tradition by providing funds to retain students and assist them towards earning a college degree.

The Legacy Scholarship is for dependent children of a Tiffin University Alumni from our PhD, graduate or undergraduate program. The dependent student must be a full-time, on-campus, first-year or transfer undergraduate student. Dependent students must fulfill admission requirements.

This Legacy Scholarship is for one academic year only and is renewable based on meeting the requirements below.

IN ORDER FOR YOU TO MAINTAIN ELIGIBILITY FOR THE LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fulfill the admission requirements of Tiffin University.
  • Be a dependent of a Tiffin University Alumni from our undergraduate, graduate or doctoral program.
  • Student must be a full-time on-campus, first-year undergraduate  or  transfer student. Online and Off-campus locations do not qualify. Withdrawing from classes may result in this scholarship being reduced or canceled.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Must maintain good academic standing at the university.
  • Cannot receive institutional aid in a credit balance.

This scholarship can be awarded in addition to a merit scholarship, athletic, preforming arts, cheerleading, and/or any additional institutional aid.

Tiffin University will provide a military discount toward tuition to retired military, Veterans, Reservists, National Guard, and/or dependents of active duty (spouse/children). You must submit documentation in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University’s scholarships, grants, or discounts. Proof must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.

  • Undergraduate Degree Students: $150 off per credit hour
  • Master’s Degree Students: $250 off per credit hour
  • Doctorate Degree Students: $150 off per credit hour

  • Copy of your most recent Leave and Earning Statement showing estimated time of separation
  • Copy of your DD214
  • Letter from an Education Officer

Employees from the following Partner Institutions will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. Must submit proof of employment through a letter from their employer annually.

  • Marion Technical College
  • Owens Community College
  • Edison State Community College

  • North Central State College

The amount of the grant is as follows

  • $150 off per credit hour for online and extended learning undergraduate programs
  • $200 off per credit hour for main campus undergraduate programs
  • $250 off per credit hour for master level programs
  • $150 off per credit hour for PhD program

Full time Undergraduate on-campus students who are a member of Phi Theta Kappa will be eligible to receive $500 per semester from Tiffin University. Members must provide a copy of their certificate.

Volunteers of America employees who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.

  • Graduate Students: $250 per credit hour discount
  • Online and Extended Learning Undergraduate Students: $150 per credit hour discount
  • Main Campus Undergraduate Students: $200 per credit hour discount

Individuals who are dependent undergraduate level students and whose parent(s) work for another college or university may be eligible to apply for the Tuition Exchange Scholarship. This scholarship application process must be initiated through the Tuition Exchange liaison at his/her sponsor college (parent’s employer).

Tiffin University participates in two Exchange Programs: Tuition Exchange, Inc., and the Council of Independent Colleges Tuition Exchange Program. Tiffin University does not participate in the Tuition Exchange Programs for Graduate (Masters) or Doctoral (Ph.D.) Level programs.

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Students receiving a Tuition Exchange award are required to file the FAFSA. The total of Federal grants, State grants, Academic/Merit Scholarship, and Tuition Exchange cannot exceed the total cost of Tuition, technology fee, and campus services fee.

College Work-Study Program

The purpose of the College Work-Study program is to expand part-time employment opportunities for eligible students to pursue their education.

We also have agreements with off campus locations, if you have reliable transportation you can visit the financial aid office for a current list of locations and an application for those positions.

Money Earned

Please note that money earned is not automatically applied to your account like other financial aid. Dollars are earned by the student and they will receive the dollars by a paycheck. Employment through the federal work study program is not guaranteed and should not be relied on as a manner for covering a student’s bill.
